ABOUT THE PROJECT "One Day in the Life" is a project in which students exchange photographs/images describing days in their lives, and then make cross-cultural comparisons. Students may discuss aspects of a typical day (like visiting the market or going to school) or they may document special days (like vacations, birthdays, celebrations, or holidays.) project planGoal of the Project: Developing students' specific skills Student Age Levels: 1o-11 (the 5th form) Number of students involved: 15 Possible classroom activities: - Students share photographs having some text or caption of daily routine work, school life, holidays celebrations, festivals celebrations. - Students share video of a typical day spend with friends.After posting their work in the appropriate discussion, students then post at least two good responses to other students' posts from outside their country, for each new post they make. This assure that everyone gets good feedback! Period: September 01 2015 - March 31 2016 September - PREPARING FOR THE PROJECT 1. Project registration (10 -13 September) 2. Looking for partners (14 -19 September) 3. Making accounts for each student (20 -22 September) 4. Introducing the project to the students (23 -25 September) 5. Having students exploring the iEARN blog (26 -31 September) October- General Theme Disscussion: YOUR DAY LIFE AT HOME 1. Students describe their daily routine at home after school (Study time, Playing time, Fun with friends etc.) 2. Students describe a day with the family (Refreshment time, Family getting-togethers, Family chores etc.) 3. Read the posts of other students and post comments. November- General Theme Disscussion: YOUR SCHOOL DAY 1. Students describe a typical day at their school. 2. Students describe a school trip they took recently, or a special school day. 3. Students write about their normal school life (Extracurricular activities in the school, Going to library, sports, elocution etc.). 4. Read the posts of other students and post comments. December - General Theme Disscussion: MEALTIME 1. Students describe mealtime at their home. 2. Students write about their meals and foods. 3. Read the posts of other students and post comments. January - General Theme Disscussion: HOLIDAYS 1. Students describe holiday celebrations in their homes. 2.Students describe the special days, the ones they consider the"best days" in your life. 3. Students present and exchange photographs that reflect their culture and community. 4. Read the posts of other students and post comments. February - General Theme Disscussion: PERSONALITIES 1. Students describe personalities that they encounter in their daily life. 2. Students document a person in their life: a family member, a friend, a neighbour, a worker, a store clerk, or anyone who is in your life. 3. Read the posts of other students and post comments. Mariana, your project is very inteerstign and detailed prepsented! I do like the fact that you mentioned the time limits and divided it into few sections. What I'd recommend you to add is: to delegate some students to monitor the implementation of each step. The role of the monitors will be to remind the participants what they need to do and to offer relevant feedback to each comment, along with your own reflections on the project process and final products.
